Buhari charges investors to channel ideas for economic growth


On Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari instructed investors and entrepreneurs to effectively channel their ideas towards growing the economy.

The chairman made the call when the chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and members of the group’s board of directors visited him at the presidential villa in Abuja.

He stressed that his administration would continue to invest heavily in infrastructure for the good of Nigeria.

Buhari urged foreign entrepreneurs and investors to continue focusing on strategic areas that would improve the economy and transform people’s lives.

He said, “I urge Nigerians in the business sector to emulate the iconic entrepreneur like Aliko Dangote by investing in such ventures which will in time become worthy legacies as national assets which will continue to benefit the people of generation to generation and to create solid anchors of sustainability. prosperity for their citizens.

The President also assured Nigerians that his administration would continue to prioritize the necessary steps to boost investment and business in the country.

He added: “I am keenly aware of the many challenges in the business environment and the investment climate despite this government’s sustained efforts to make improvements.

“However, I want to assure you that the government will do everything possible to promote infrastructure development, particularly in the energy and transport sectors.

“We will also continue to implement necessary reforms in the civil service to significantly improve the ease of doing business.”
