DHAKA: China and Bangladesh discussed how to promote the healthy development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries in the post-Covid-19 pandemic era.
The two sides held talks at the 2021 China-Bangladesh Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and the inauguration of the Seventh Council of the Association of Chinese Businesses in Bangladesh (CEAB) held virtually on Tuesday.

Jashim Uddin, president of the Bangladesh Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), said China is a great development partner of Bangladesh. He said that the Bangladeshi government has undertaken many mega-development projects with the support of China and that the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative has provided excellent opportunities for Bangladesh.
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Chairman Rizwan Rahman said China is one of the world’s Covid-19 resilient economies.
Following in China’s footsteps, he said, Bangladesh is also a Covid-19 resilient economy.
Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) Chairman Gazi Golam Murtoza said the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries helped boost trade, commerce and investment between the two sides.
He said that BCCCI has long sought to continue cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.
In his welcoming speech, CEAB Chairman Ke Changliang said the forum aimed to establish new relationships between Bangladeshi and Chinese companies for the continued trade, commerce and investment.
