Second very successful Sino-African economic and trade fair

No less than 135 projects worth $ 22.9 billion were signed at the Second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) held recently in Changsha, China.

According to the Hunan Province People’s Government Information Office which made the disclosure, the signed agreements were part of a total of 569 projects that were proposed.

Both the volume and the value of the projects signed exceeded those of last year during the first CAETE, and also recorded a more balanced structure and more diversified sources of funding.

The Expo galvanized the strengths of stakeholders in China and Africa to jointly promote the high-quality development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

Nearly 500 Chinese and African business enterprises held consultations and matchmaking before and during the Expo, according to organizers, who say the online Expo has accelerated the digitization process.

The Expo created a model of “cloud conference, cloud exhibition and cloud transaction”, and for the “cloud conference”, the real-time broadcast of the opening ceremony was directly transmitted to Africa for the first time, with 9.81 million views.

For “cloud exhibition”, the merchandise exhibition had 10.68 million views, providing exhibition and presentation, matchmaking and online negotiations for both sides.

In terms of “cloud commerce”, the “China-Africa Online Shopping Festival”, set up on the basis of well-known e-commerce platforms in Africa, has registered more than 900 million page views and a volume of transactions exceeding CNY 250 million.
