Skilled trades companies are trying to find workers so they can grow.
There are not enough workers to fill all the vacancies.
Diane Rozier is director of human resources and security for CNH Reman, which reconditiones industrial parts.
“I think we’ve seen more stability and growth thanks to the COVID crisis than our peers and other employers in the region. We had no stops. And we really grew. Our need for employees is less about sales and more about the growth and expansion of our organization. “
Rozier says that as the economy recovers from the pandemic, businesses are trying to grow.
“There is a change in (the) environment. And we need more skilled tradespeople who want to take advantage of the immediate opportunities we have so that we can continue to grow and build in America.
Rozier says his business needs people who can help the business grow.
“Mechanical ability is really important, but not the only driver. We need people who have an attitude and an ability to learn and grow. And we want to help them become what they want to be and help them get to where they want to go.
The Springfield Chamber of Commerce says now is the time to consider a career in the skilled trades.
Older workers are retiring, creating openings in well-paying jobs.
Most of these jobs do not require a four year degree.
