United Arab Emirates and Israel sign economic and trade cooperation agreement

UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid signed an economic and trade cooperation agreement on Wednesday.

Sheikh Abdullah and Lapid met in Abu Dhabi and agreed on several areas of cooperation, according to a joint statement.

The signed agreement “reflects the commitment of the two governments to the development of economic relations and the free movement of goods and services, as well as cooperation in the fields of exhibitions, exchange of expertise and knowledge, exchange of delegations, cooperation between chambers of commerce, promotion of joint research and development and agro-technologies. “

The parties agreed to establish a joint economic committee to implement the agreement to remove barriers and increase bilateral trade, the statement said.

Sheikh Abdullah and Lapid were also eagerly awaiting the signing of a free trade agreement, claiming to have started discussions on the issue.

“The two ministers discussed ways to further explore ways to increase investment in each other’s economies, infrastructure, science and technology, thereby bringing together the ingenuity and innovative spirit and vision of peoples and leaders of the two countries, “the statement added.
